Customs and import procedure are costly and slow preventing the development of reliable supply chain networks. Local materials and manufacture is a must to create social impact business models.

Many locals possess fabrication and manufacturing experience which will enable local production. By shortening operation pipelines product and higher and more traceable quality can be achieved.

Passive Fuel

Over 2 billion humans posses coal as a cooking fuel which can be used as a latent asset/ heat source which would power a thermoelectric generator. This is a big win for our project!

Tribal hierarchy defines rank and seniority within the tribe, this waterfall structure enables our team to appease the chief which has lasting effects on ensuring their is consistent productivity.

Many villagers use kerosene lanterns as a light source in their homes without proper ventilation, toxic off gases often poison children and lead to airborne illness.

Design a sustainable business that will survive in a developing nation?

The entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well within the Ghanaian countryside, however, without proper partnerships and community support new programs slowly fail.

Final Result

Beta prototypes were delivered

After the product had been tested in africa our team filled for a utility patent and brought several prototypes to Ghana for active use within the villages.

My Role

Co-Founder / Fundraising / Design

While on the "Twig Light" team I helped develop a sustainable business model, brought in investment, and helped with product design. This experience helped shape my worldview in better understanding dramatically different cultures needs.
