When creating objects in a physical medium I start with a hand drawn sketch which is translated into 3D space via surface & nurbs modeling in rhino or solidworks. After which mechanical assemblies, and simulations can begin. Manufacturing begins by BOM costing, and producing part drawings for tooling and fabrication.
